(SOLD) Custom Helle knife with antler handle and barktan sheath
This is the largest blade I generally put antler handles on. The laminated high-carbon blade is 4-1/2" long and over 1/8" thick and is unpolished, still retaining the scale from the tempering process. (The blade is based on knives found in ancient Viking archaeological sites.) It has a beefy mule deer antler handle, suitable for medium to large hands.
The deep, welted sheath is constructed of bark-tanned deer hide and stitched with brain-tanned deerhide. There is a band of bark-tanned salmon skin around the top of the sheath.
